School Meals

Our school uses a company called Caterlink to provide school meals for the children. The meals meet the School Food Standards and provide a hot balanced meal every day.

The catering team freshly prepare and cook the meals in our school kitchen.

Meals includes a choice of two main meals (one of which is suitable for a vegetarian or halal diet) or a jacket potato with filling, a choice of two vegetables, a salad bar, freshly baked bread, a pudding of the day or a choice of fresh fruit,  yogurt or cheese and biscuits.

Changing your child's meal pattern 

A minimum of one weeks' notice is required to make a change, please complete and submit this form. 

Universal Free School Meals (Reception - Year 6)

From September 2023 all children are automatically entitled a Universal Free School Meal irrespective of income.
Alternatively you may provide your child with a packed lunch.

Pupil Premium/Free School Meals

Pupil Premium Grant (PPG) is additional funding for publicly funded schools in England to raise the attainment of disadvantaged pupils of all abilities and to close the gaps between them and their peers.

Children entitled to PPG may be entitled to financial help with some school activities and trips. 
How to register securely and confidentially

To check if your child is eligible for Pupil Premium Grant you must register with the London Grid for Learning (LGfL).

We ask that if you register your child as soon as they join Wallington Primary Academy.
This will ensure that our school receives the correct funding for your child from the day they start.

Milk and Fruit in School

Children in Nursery (Buttercups) receive free milk in school each day.

Children in Nursery, Reception, Years 1 and 2 receive a portion of fruit each morning.

Snacks in School

Please send your child to school with a bottle of water. This should be in a named sports type bottle.

Children in Nursery, Reception, Years 1 and 2 receive a free portion of fruit each day.

Children in Years 3 - 6 can bring a portion of fruit to eat at breaktime. 
No other items of food are permitted (for example crisps, biscuits and cereal bars).

Free School Meals and Pupil Premium Entitlement

Your child may be eligible for a free school meal under certain criteria.

Registration for free school meals must be made via the London Grid for Learning (LGfL) at https://pps.lgfl.org.uk/ or by clicking on the below icon.

Please note that the school cannot start providing free school meals until official notification is received from LGFL.
Alternatively you may provide your child with a packed lunch.

Please note that the school are not automatically notified if you register with the London Borough of Sutton Revenues and Benefits Team. Therefore to avoid delay with receiving your entitlement, please register with LGfL using the above link, or notify the school office.

Making packed lunches, here's what we ask you to remember:

  • We are a Nut Free​ School

  • Always include at least one piece of fruit​ &/or vegetable sticks

  • Include a healthy sandwich, wrap, tub of pasta or rice

  • Only water (no juice)​

  • Free from chocolate bars​
